Role Description
You'll be the creative and operational lead behind our bar — shaping the cocktail program, training the bar team, and ensuring every drink served matches the quality, warmth, and energy of Peponi's.
You'll work closely with the owner and Head Chef to design a beverage experience that complements our food and enhances the restaurant's atmosphere. From classic cocktails to modern twists and local inspirations, you'll craft a menu and bar culture that make Peponi's a destination.
Your role isn't just about seating guests – it's about bringing energy, personality, and hospitality to every interaction, making sure everyone feels part of the Peponi's vibe.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire the bar team to deliver exceptional drinks and service
- Develop and maintain a creative, balanced cocktail and drinks menu aligned with Peponi's brand
- Ensure consistency and excellence in every drink served — from preparation to presentation
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and cost control
- Train and mentor bartenders and barbacks on mixology, service standards, and efficiency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar at all times
- Collaborate with management and kitchen teams to coordinate service and special events
- Engage guests with confidence, charm, and genuine hospitality — you're the personality behind the bar
- Uphold all safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Head Bartender or Senior Bartender in a busy, high-quality bar or restaurant
- Deep knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine — and a passion for creativity behind the bar
- Strong leadership and communication skills — you know how to build a team and keep energy high
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent guest service skills with a confident, engaging personality
- Organizational and time-management skills for smooth bar operations

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Pizza Chef at Peponi's located in Nairobi. The Pizza Chef will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, maintaining hygiene standards, working with food & beverage items, and preparing sauces.
Qualifications
- Food Preparation and Cooking skills
- Hygiene standards knowledge
- Experience with Food & Beverage items and Sauces
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and creativity in pizza making
- Previous experience as a Pizza Chef is a plus

As Kitchen Manager
, you'll be the backbone of our back-of-house operations — leading the kitchen team, ensuring smooth service, and upholding our standards of consistency, quality, and hospitality. You'll work closely with the Head Chef and owners to bring organization, rhythm, and positive energy to every shift.
The Role
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring every service runs smoothly, efficiently, and to Peponi's standards.
- Support the Head Chef in recipe execution, consistency, and presentation of all dishes.
- Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering teamwork, communication, and a positive work culture.
- Manage prep schedules, inventory, and supplier relationships to ensure freshness and cost control.
- Maintain rigorous standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety at all times.
- Assist in menu planning, costing, and implementation of seasonal specials.
- Monitor portioning, wastage, and kitchen organization to optimize performance and minimize costs.
- Train and develop kitchen staff, ensuring continuous learning and professional growth.
- Lead by example — with calm under pressure, attention to detail, and pride in every plate that leaves the kitchen.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or similar leadership role in a fast-paced restaurant.
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, team management, and food safety protocols.
- A hands-on leader who thrives in an energetic, collaborative environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Passion for great food — especially pizza and honest, ingredient-driven cooking.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and composure under pressure.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
