About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative
Storyboard Designer
to support the development of engineering continuing education courses. In this role, you will be the link between course scripts and our visualization/animation team - transforming written content into visually engaging, actionable storyboards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review course scripts provided in Word documents.
- Transfer script content to organized PowerPoint slides, ensuring each scene is visually clear and aligns with the instructional goals.
- Source and propose high-quality stock images and video clips that accurately reflect the technical and conceptual content of each script.
- Develop detailed, unambiguous visual layout descriptions and instructions for our animation team - including annotated screenshots or diagrams where needed - to successfully bring each scene to life.
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts and instructional designers to ensure accuracy and clarity, especially for engineering and technical concepts.
- Maintain a high standard of quality, clarity, and creativity in all deliverables.
What We're Looking For:
- Portfolio or work samples demonstrating storyboard creation - ideally for e-learning, technical, or STEM-based projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint (and/or similar tools such as Google Slides, Figma, Photoshop, etc.).
- Experience sourcing and curating imagery, video, and other visual references.
- Ability to write clear, actionable visual instructions for animation and graphics teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to capture the "spirit" of a transcript or technical script in visual form.
- Comfort working with technical concepts (engineering background is highly desirable but not strictly required).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work full-time in Nairobi office; hybrid working option may be considered after a successful probation period.
