JOB CONTEXT:Since January 2024, HI has been responding to Sudan's crisis. HI's joint multisectorial response in Gedaref State, implemented with a Sudanese partner NGO, is already providing physical and functional rehabilitation services in healthcare centers and at community level, as well as MHPSS services, including individual and group counselling. HI is further engaged at the humanitarian coordination level to mainstream disability inclusion throughout the humanitarian response.
HI is scaling up its response from both geographic and modalities/sectorial perspectives. In particular, HI has deployed emergency response teams in Darfur, to setup its operations and initiate its response in the western parts of Sudan, since December 2024. Activities are implemented in Darfur since January 2025 in Basic needs (Wash and FSL), and assessment in other sectors are being conducted. The advertised vacancy is to be part of that team.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION:Humanity & Inclusion (HI), together with a local NGO starts a project in the Darfur region of Sudan. The HI Darfur team is based in Geneina, conducting direct implementation of activities in the area.
YOUR MISSION:You will be part of the remote coordination team based in Nairobi. Under the leadership of the Country Director, you are responsible for coordinating the financial and human resources activities and timelines of the program. You will work closely with your counterpart based in Darfur and will be the focal point for your sector with Headquarters.
Your main responsibilities are the following:
- Ensuring the mission's accountancy and cash flow management
- Carrying out management of budget and donor funding contracts
- Ensuring the implementation of the mission's HR processes (recruitment, remuneration, social and healthcare coverage, evaluation, training) and compliance with local legal framework
- Guaranteeing international and national personnel administration at mission level
- You have proven experience of at least 4 years in a coordination position, in Finance and HR
- You have experience in team management and in capacity building
- You have a strong knowledge of planning, purchasing, procurement, recruitment, budgeting and donor reporting
- You have strong organizational and reporting skills
- Proficiency in professional English

Salary from 2869€ gross/month upon experience
- Perdiem: 606€ net/month - paid in the field
- Paid leaves: 25 days per year
- R&R: 11 days/year
- Position: open to couples. Support travel costs (air ticket & visa) for accompanying dependent and health/ repatriation insurance if the dependent has no income
- Housing: Individual taken in charge by HI.

CONTEXT: Since fighting broke out between the SAF and RSF in April 2023 in Sudan, a significant deterioration of the humanitarian situation has occurred. There are an estimated 24.8 million persons in need of humanitarian assistance, over 11 million persons displaced internally, half the population at Crisis level of hunger, and a collapse of the health system.
Humanity & Inclusion (HI) has initiated its programmatic response to the Sudan crisis in January 2024. Together with a Sudanese NGO, HI is currently implementing a project in Sudan (Gedaref State). The project includes physical and functional rehabilitation, MHPSS, Protection and Inclusive Humanitarian Action.
Following HI's registration in Sudan in August 2024 to implement directly, HI initiated direct project implementation from December 2024, to respond to the basic needs, rehabilitation, mental health, protection and inclusion needs of persons with disabilities and other vulnerable populations in Sudan affected by the war.
In line with the localization of aid, and in light of the administrative steps and challenges to operate in Sudan, the Country Management team is based in Nairobi, providing remote support to the local partners while leading the preparation of direct implementation projects. Depending on visa approval, HI teams will have the possibility to travel to Sudan for field and monitoring visits.
YOUR MISSION:
Reporting to the country director and in collaboration with HQ services, you as Logistics Manager,
ensure the efficient management of logistics resources for the region under your responsibility.
You are the point person for the country director and as such informs him of any problems that
fall within your remit and suggests solutions. You are a key player in the rollout and implementation of HI's logistics standards, which consists in reworking the positioning of logistics at HI and affirming the principle of professional development.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Management
- Defines the Logistics section of the StratOp and directs its action plan
- Deploys HI's standards and contributes to its expertise and accountability within his or her remit:
Operational implementation of logistics
Diagnostic phase – Contextual analysis:
Design phase – Resources planning:
Launch phase – Procurement planning
Facilitates the Logistics profession's development and contributes towards the development of the logistics profession across the organisation
- Emergency Preparedness and Response Responsibilities
- Internal control
· You hold a degree in logistics or supply chain, with training in logistics management and development of humanitarian projects/operations, or equivalent.
· You have proven experience in at least 5 years of the following sectors: procurement / supplies, management / rehabilitation of premises, fleet management, and/or information and communication systems, and at least 4 years' experience in a coordination position.
· With a high capacity for analysis and synthesis, you have proven training and local capacity building experience.
· You are able to project quickly in an emergency context, manage your stress, and work under pressure.
· You are able to handle conflicts, you have strong interpersonal and intercultural skills, with good communication and negotiation skills in English and French is a real plus
