Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Tech Lead — Backend & DevOps (SaaS Platform) located in Nairobi County, Kenya, with some work from home acceptable. We're seeking a highly capable
Tech Lead (Backend & DevOps)
to architect and build the core platform for a modern multi-tenant SaaS product. You'll lead backend development, own infrastructure, and ensure scalability, performance, and reliability across environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services and APIs using
(NestJS or similar)
. - Architect a
multi-tenant database (PostgreSQL)
with secure
Row-Level Security (RLS)
and efficient indexing. - Build
asynchronous job pipelines
and event queues (Redis, BullMQ, SQS, or equivalent). - Integrate secure
third-party webhooks
(e.g., payments, messaging), with idempotent logic and retry policies. - Manage infrastructure via
Docker, Terraform
, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent). - Set up observability (Sentry, Datadog, OpenTelemetry) and operational best practices.
- Mentor other engineers and help define engineering standards for the team.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5–8+ years of backend engineering experience , Python, or Go).
- Deep PostgreSQL expertise — schema design, indexing, RLS, query tuning.
- Strong background in
DevOps & cloud environments
(AWS, GCP, or similar). - Proven experience building and scaling
multi-tenant SaaS platforms
. - Understanding of
security best practices
, auth flows, rate limiting, and API versioning. - Excellent problem-solving and architectural judgment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with payments (Stripe or similar) or messaging APIs.
- Background in designing event-driven or queue-based systems.
- Familiarity with performance budgets and cost optimization in cloud environments.

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Mobile Engineer at ClusterBox, based in Nairobi County, Kenya, with some work-from-home flexibility. We're hiring a
Mobile Engineer
to build high-quality, performant
cross-platform mobile applications
for both iOS and Android from a single codebase. You'll own the entire app lifecycle — architecture, performance, release pipelines, and user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain mobile apps using
React Native (Expo)
or
Flutter
. - Implement secure authentication, deep linking, and push notifications.
- Build optimized and reusable UI components for messaging, activity feeds, and task workflows.
- Ensure smooth offline experience (caching, background sync, retry queues).
- Integrate REST/GraphQL APIs, handle edge cases and network failures gracefully.
- Manage mobile CI/CD pipelines, TestFlight/Play Console releases, and OTA updates.
- Track performance metrics and maintain ≥99% crash-free rate across builds.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–6+ years of professional mobile development experience.
