Our primary goal is to eliminate preventable blindness in the East African region by improving accessibility to eye care, both in terms of location and cost. We have supported more than 80,000 people with free health services, performed over 4,000 cataract surgeries, and delivered more than 6,000 early interventions to those at risk of blindness.
Role Description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with experience in fundraising, grant writing, and campaign development. This role will be
responsible for preparing grant proposals and fundraising requests, developing and implementing fundraising strategies, and conducting research on potential funding opportunities.
The ideal candidate is passionate about healthcare issues, and skilled at turning ideas into funding opportunities

Core Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Act as the custodian of the Hospital performance reports
- Approval of day to day matters such as petty cash, waiver sheets, purchase orders, requisitions
- Collaborate with the COO in the implementation and monitoring of effective policies, protocols, and work instructions for the hospital unit's operations.
- Partner with the COO in the measurement of effectiveness of all internal processes in line with the organization policies and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure that all relevant licenses required to run the facility are procured and displayed as per the requirements of relevant legislative provisions.
- Provide timely, accurate and complete reports to the COO on the operating condition of the facility.
- Satisfying stakeholder expectations and proactively seeking to foster relationships that are beneficial to both the company and the stakeholders.
Planning and Development
- Implementing strategies for patient growth.
- Interpret and report on trends in the hospital performance through analysis of key data, and use this for data driven decision making.
- Provide feedback to the Branch Doctor In- Charge and the COO on company policies and procedures, and constantly look out for potential changes which could improve operational efficiency or reduce costs within the facility assigned.
What you bring
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a business-related field (preferably accounting)
- Professional qualifications shall be an added advantage.
- 5 years' experience in a similar and middle management role.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in healthcare is a strong advantage

Role Overview
We are seeking a
Freelance Grant & Proposal Writer to help identify, develop, and submit funding proposals to foundations, NGOs, corporates, and development agencies.
This role is commission-based — you earn an agreed percentage only when a proposal you write is successfully funded.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify grant and funding opportunities aligned with our organizational goals.
- Write compelling, well-structured proposals and concept notes.
- Ensure compliance with funder requirements, deadlines, and formats.
- Collaborate with our internal team to gather necessary data, impact stories, and budgets.
- Track proposals and follow up on submissions.
Requirements
- Proven experience writing successful grant or funding proposals, preferably in the healthcare, social impact, or NGO sectors.
- Strong written communication and research skills.
- Self-driven, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with donor databases and online grant platforms is an advantage.
- Based in Kenya (Nairobi preferred).
Compensation
- Commission-based:
A success fee is paid upon confirmed grant or funding award. - Option to transition to a retainer model in the future based on performance and results.
