Job Purpose
:
An Auto-Electrician is responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and components in motor vehicles during the assembly process. The role ensures that all electrical installations meet safety, quality and performance standards. The Auto-Electrician must be knowledgeable in automotive electrical systems, able to interpret wiring diagrams, and skilled in using diagnostic tools to ensure optimal vehicle functionality.
Key responsibilities:
- Install wiring harnesses, relays, sensors, control modules, and other electrical components during vehicle assembly
- Connect cables, tubes, and wires to complete electrical assemblies and installations
- Test vehicle electrical systems and components using diagnostic tools such as multi-meters, scan tools, and oscilloscopes
- Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems including lighting, ignition, charging, infotainment, and safety systems
- Position and secure electrical components using hand and power tools, ensuring proper routing and protection of wiring
- Inspect electrical installations for compliance with specifications and report any defects for correction
- Drive toward a quality product, perform quality inspections and tests on product as required
- Collaborate with assemblers, welders and engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems
- Collaborate and communicate with team to ensure On Time deliveries of product
- Maintain accurate records of installations, diagnostics, repairs, and modifications
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and electrical standards during all tasks
- Perform quality checks and ensure all electrical systems meet operational standards before vehicle release
- Must keep company provided tools and equipment secured and in good working condition
- Fill out associated daily documentation related to electrical installations and diagnostics, including progress reports
- Ensuring that the shop is in excellent condition regarding cleanliness, safety, and equipment condition to minimise production down time and support Lean Manufacturing Initiatives
- Seek opportunities to drive improvement on projects and lean processes
- Collaborate with engineers to develop and document processes and activities
- Apply sound problem-solving skills to achieve high quality standards for internal customers in a fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision
Any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor
Required qualifications and experience:
- Diploma in Automotive Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in automotive electrical work, preferably in an assembly or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of DC power systems, including EV battery technologies and applicable standards is an added advantage
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while working independently
- Flexible to work long hours and weekends when called upon
- A valid driver's license with Class B, C, D, E

Job Purpose
: The Electrical engineer role is a key position within the Technical Services Department. Their role is to provide proactive, multi-skilled sustainable service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure. This role focuses on the maintenance and optimisation of plant electrical equipment, with a strong emphasis on DC power systems and Electric Vehicle (EV) technologies as well as increase the plant operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, downtime reduction, manage and implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. They will adhere to best practice and establish standard policies and procedures, implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.
Key responsibilities:
- Designing, developing, control and testing electrical equipment and systems, focusing on safety, efficiency, and reliability
- Oversee installations, maintenance, support, documentation, analyse electrical systems and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes and specifications
- Support and optimise DC power systems used in E.V battery assembly and testing
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support E.V-related equipment and processes
- Assist in installation and commissioning of E.V equipment as well as setting up safe working procedures
- Implement and uphold electrical safety standards and compliance protocols
- Work closely with other engineers, technicians, and project managers to ensure successful project completion
- To establish preventive maintenance schedule for all the plant facilities, production equipment's and tools, and ensure its implementation
- Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials
- To support continuous improvement and innovation activities to achieve company's business objectives
- Develop schematics for electrical systems, writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects
- Investigating and diagnosing problems, then providing recommendations for improvement
- To prepare production critical equipment's list and implement startup and preventive maintenance schedules
- To develop and implement contingency plans for all the production critical equipment
- Analyse data, trends and come up with reports with the aim of improving internal processes
- To ensure periodic inspection and testing of utility systems such as transformers, electrical control systems, power generators and air compressors
- To coordinate and assign work duties to Maintenance Technicians according to their capabilities in order to meet the internal customer requirements
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
- Manage all Service and Technical aspects for the full range of products with the objective of achieving the set targets.
- Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility
- To track expenses and oversee the budget for plant maintenance
- Develop, implement, and periodically review policies, operating procedures, and processes within the Plant Maintenance Department.
- To maintain and continuously update the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with IATF requirements
- Closely work with SHE team to maintain the health and safety standards within the premises in line with the company and statutory regulations
- To review Technicians functional skill levels and ensure required training to perform their duties
- To Provide hands on training to technicians to ensure a competent and effective workforce
- To prepare calibration schedules and ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of gauges, test machines, torquing tools and wrenches are undertaken
- To maintain proper records of technical and procedural operations
- Manage systems and equipment data storage and maintain high levels of standards and accuracy.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
- Ensure availability of work tools, machines, and other necessary equipment required for the performance of job duties
- Conduct periodic inspections to ensure the efficient performance of work equipment and systems
- To monitor and review employee work performance to identify areas of inefficiency and training project team members as necessary
- Ensure maintenance technicians comply with set health/safety policies and procedures
- Ensure that company premises and facilities are kept in clean and hygienic condition
- To ensure all the machinery works properly and is safe for employees to use
- Identifying energy saving opportunities and champion energy management programs
- Examine needs on new equipment, calculate costs and help prepare budgets
- And any other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
Required qualifications and experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required
- Broad knowledge in production, world class production principles, plant maintenance management, energy management, electrical systems, PLC programming, torquing technology, project management, problem solving and best practices
- Experience in setting up EV technology and DC power systems
- Technical capability and understanding
- Deep knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience of designing or implementing a framework of continuous improvement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of Partners, senior managers, and subject matter experts.
- Proficient in the use of CMMS and Microsoft Office, including Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain
- Highly motivated with the ability to work independently
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate technology to potential business impacts
- Knowledge of ISO Standards, (9001, 14001, 45001, etc)
