Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Supervising and coordinating all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project schedules and plans.
- Interpreting architectural drawings, engineering plans, and specifications.
- Managing and directing a team of construction workers, foremen, and subcontractors.
- Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
- Conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.
- Managing materials, equipment, and resources efficiently to prevent delays and cost overruns.
- Liaising with clients, architects, consultants, and other stakeholders to address queries and resolve issues.
- Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management.
- Troubleshooting site challenges and implementing effective solutions.
- Overseeing the quality control and assurance processes for all construction activities.
- Managing site logistics, including temporary facilities, site access, and security.
- Ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
- Maintaining accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, incident reports, and completion certificates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional registration (P.Eng or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in site engineering and construction supervision.
- Extensive experience in managing diverse construction projects (e.g., residential, commercial, infrastructure).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in construction project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Must be adaptable and able to work effectively in a hybrid role, balancing site presence with office-based responsibilities.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various sites as required.
