Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of optimal plant layouts, material flow strategies, and workstation designs for new and existing facilities.
  • Utilize advanced simulation software (e.g., AnyLogic, FlexSim) to model and analyze material flow, production capacity, and system performance.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., VSM, 5S, cellular manufacturing) to eliminate waste and improve operational efficiency within proposed layouts.
  • Develop detailed specifications for material handling equipment, automation, and facility infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, safety, and project management, to ensure designs meet all requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed layout and design changes.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including layout drawings, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in layout design principles and simulation techniques.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in plant design, automation, and ergonomics.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on plant layout, facility design, and material flow optimization.
  • Expertise in using plant simulation and modeling software.
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and their application to facility design.
  • Strong understanding of ergonomics, safety standards, and workplace design best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders in a remote environment.
  • Proven experience leading complex design projects and mentoring junior team members.
