Amentum is seeking a Plumber to support a unique US Navy program on the island of Diego Garcia. The Plumber is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, with a focus on wastewater facilities and submersible sewage or wastewater pump systems.
**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Operating and maintaining wastewater facilities and related plumbing systems to ensure compliance with operational standards.
+ Performing inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on submersible sewage or wastewater pumps.
+ Installing, repairing, and maintaining water, gas, and sewage systems in compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
+ Reading blueprints, layouts, and technical manuals to ensure proper installation and repair of plumbing systems.
+ Identifying and addressing plumbing issues, including leaks, blockages, and pump malfunctions.
+ Documenting inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
+ Coordinating with supervisors and other team members to achieve operational goals and respond to emergencies as needed.
+ Adhering to established safety protocols and plumbing codes when carrying out assignments.
+ Perform other job-related duties as assigned that are consistent with the nature and level of the position.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ At least three (3) years of work experience in the maintenance and repair of submersible sewage or wastewater pumps.
+ Journeyman-level plumbing certification
+ Knowledge and hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater facilities.
+ Strong understanding of plumbing systems, wastewater operations, and applicable codes and safety standards.
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
+ Passport should be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
+ Ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
+ Must successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
+ Must be able to speak, read, and comprehend English.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Prior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce is preferred.
+ Valid country driver's license.
+ Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and time management skills.
+ Familiarity with plumbing tools, equipment, and techniques required for large-scale plumbing operations.
