1. Duties & Responsibilities:
The jobholder carries out activities related to various security aspects of DG ECHO staff, offices and operations, in support to the RSC (Regional Security Coordinator) for East Africa, and the RSC for Central & Southern Africa. The jobholder contributes to increasing the security of DG ECHO staff deployed in the different countries of these regions and s/he will be responsible for the following tasks, among others:
Helps to assess the security situation at the duty station and ensures adequate gathering and verification of security information needed for a proper assessment of the situation by the RSCs.
Communicates information on security to the Head of Regional Office (HoRO) and Heads of Offices (HoOs) in the two regions and provides security advice to DG ECHO staff in the absence of the RSC as required.
Liaises and coordinates, as appropriate, with Security Focal Points of DG ECHO partners and other relevant actors.
Maintains a statistical database of all security incidents in the two regions and analytical charts.
Helps to prepare and review the contingency and security plans and procedures.

Education: Relevant university degree and/or studies relevant to security or equivalent professional experience.
Knowledge and experience:

Experience in diplomatic security, protection, security analysis is considered as an asset.

The **Synchrolift Support Hand** is responsible for assisting in dry docking and undocking evolutions using the Synchrolift system.
