Key Responsibilities
The Role Holder’s duties will include but not limited to
Regulatory Approvals and Compliance
Coordinate licensing applications, renewals, expansions, and compliance filings with Central Banks and other relevant authorities.
Leads regulatory approvals for EMI, PSP, and NPS licenses, including, systems enhancement and products applications
Oversee group-wide compliance with licensing conditions, including trust account management, KYC/AML protocols, and operational thresholds.
Monitor license-specific requirements such as reporting obligations, governance filings, and post inspections implementations.
Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance on license-linked restrictions (e.g. product scope, agent network conditions….).
Fiscal and Economic Regulations
Track and interpret regulatory frameworks on pricing, fees and other economic intervention, and levy regimes.
Analyze and manage exposure to economic regulation of platform access, national switches, net settlement models, and interoperabilit

Purpose of the Job The Airtel Money Group Head of Policy Affairs will lead the development and coordination of the Group’s public policy and regulatory strategy. This role is responsible for shaping the Group’s position on evolving regulatory and policy frameworks across mobile money, fintech, and digital financial services sectors.
The incumbent will proactively engage with regulators, policymakers, and industry stakeholders, ensuring the Group's views are represented in regulatory dialogues, reforms, and multilateral forums across its operating markets.
Key Responsibilities
Policy Development and Advocacy
Coordinate the Group’s internal positions on key regulatory and public policy issues, including AML/CFT, financial inclusion, consumer protection, data governance, KYC, taxation, platform access.
Lead the drafting of policy papers, position statements, and white papers in support of advocacy objectives.
Coordinate input into public consultations on proposed laws, regulations, directives, and supervisory guidance issued by central banks, ministries, and regional bodies.
Ensure alignment of internal regulatory strategy with evolving global, regional, national policy agendas

Job Purpose To act as the Group control tower for retail performance, operations standards and transformation, driving consistent improvement in store productivity, operational efficiency, execution quality, and performance outcomes across Airtel Africa. The role is responsible for improving how the retail business performs, by diagnosing performance gaps, enabling markets, defining standards, and scaling transformation initiatives.
