About the Role Our client, a dedicated non-governmental organization focused on sustainable development in the **Kisumu** region, is seeking an experienced Field Operations Officer. This critical role involves the hands-on management and execution of our client's field-based projects, ensuring they are implemented efficiently and effectively on the ground. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to navigate diverse community settings, manage logistics, and oversee project activities to achieve impactful outcomes. You will be instrumental in translating strategic objectives into tangible results, working closely with local communities, project beneficiaries, and implementing partners. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent problem-solving skills and a deep commitment to contributing to the well-being of the **Kisumu** populace. The role is essential for maintaining operational integrity and maximizing the reach of our client's interventions in the area. You will be a key point person for on-the-ground activities, requiring strong leadership and coordination capabilities. This role is not remote and requires consistent presence within the operational areas around **Kisumu**. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day implementation of field projects in and around **Kisumu**.
- Coordinate project activities, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.
- Manage and supervise field staff and local partners involved in project execution.
- Ensure efficient utilization of resources, including budget management and logistical planning for field operations.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or challenges, and develop and implement timely solutions.
- Liaise with community leaders and beneficiaries to ensure project relevance and community buy-in.
- Prepare regular field reports detailing activities, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, attendance, and expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with our client's policies, procedures, and donor requirements.
- Support the planning and execution of community engagement events and project assessments.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Development Studies, Project Management, Agriculture, Public Health, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in field operations or project implementation, preferably within the **Kisumu** region or similar contexts in Kenya.
- Demonstrated experience in managing teams and coordinating activities in challenging field environments.
- Strong understanding of project management principles and M&E (Monitoring and Evaluation) processes.
- Excellent logistical planning and resource management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with field data collection tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse communities.
- Fluency in English and Swahili is required; knowledge of local Luo dialects is an advantage.
- Ability to travel frequently within the **Kisumu** operational area.
