About the role

As a Senior Fault Analysis Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our consumer electronics products. You will be responsible for identifying and analysing product faults, implementing solutions to improve product quality, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in our product development process.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Fault Identification:
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and methodologies to identify and categorize product faults.
  • Collaborate with product design and development teams to understand product specifications and requirements.
  1. Root Cause Analysis:
  • Conduct in-depth root cause analysis to determine the underlying factors contributing to product faults.
  • Develop a comprehensive fault analysis database for reference and trend analysis.
  1. Testing and Validation :
  • Design and implement comprehensive test plans to validate fault analysis findings and proposed solutions.
  • Collaborate with test engineering teams to develop new testing procedures and protocols.
  1. Solution Implementation :
  • Work closely with engineering and design teams to implement corrective and preventive actions to address identified faults.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of solutions and make iterative improvements as necessary.
  1. Documentation:
  • Support the development of and review of detailed fault analysis reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create detailed repair process documentation.
  • Develop processes to ensure accurate records are generated for all fault analysis activities.
  1. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Working with the engineering team collaborating with product managers, quality assurance teams, and manufacturing teams to ensure product quality and reliability.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to cross-functional teams during product development and improvement projects.
  • Lead development of the technical repair and refurbishment processes.
  • Provide training to repair technicians and report on the quality of repair and refurbishment work.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to consumer electronics.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of 8+ years in fault analysis, root cause analysis, and product quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience of 5+ years in a leadership or management role, overseeing testing, diagnostic or repair teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware design principles, PCB layout, analogue and digital circuitry, and embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, data analysis software, and statistical analysis methods.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
