Job summary :

Job Summary; The Director of Finance and Strategy is responsible for provision of leadership and strategic direction to the company’s financial management, compliance and strategic initiatives. The position holder is a member of EXCO reporting to the Managing Director. He/She will provide leadership and strategic planning, implementation, leading and running of all the finance activities of the company, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk and governance as well as negotiations. The position holder is expected to provide sound financial advice to executive team and the Board of Directors through the Managing Director.

KEY DUTIES:

1. Strategy, policy development and implementation.

2. Budget and cost management.

 3. Financial Management.

4. Cash Flow Management.

5. Tax and Compliance Management.

6. Operational Support.

7. Performance Management.

8. Internal controls and Business Process improvement.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

For appointment to this position, one must possess:

 • An MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or any business-related field.

• Professional Qualification in ACCA or CPA (K).

• Minimum 12 years’ work experience with 5 years of practical Accounting & Financial Management experience at a leadership level.

• Demonstrated experience working with accounting systems such as Navision.

• Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.

• Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-paced environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions.
• Demonstrate resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding people.
• Excellent leadership and negotiation skills.
• Budgeting skills.
• Good presentation and communication skills.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
