Full Job Description

The purpose of the Flight Dispatcher is to procure, produce, and provide necessary information for safe aircraft operation, such as flight planning publications, operations publications, charts and maps, and weather reports.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide aircrew with the required information and services for effective airfield management and flight planning.
  • Prepare for flight arrivals (trolleys, handcart, wheelchairs) as needed.
  • Adhere to operational procedures to ensure safety of staff, customers, and aircraft.
  • Support day-to-day administration with confidentiality, judgment, and initiative.
  • Provide assistance to other members of the Governors' Aviation team as required or directed.
  • Perform flight planning and flight following activities.
  • Prepare flight documents, including manifests, weather reports, NOTAMs, and flight plans.
  • Conduct crew briefings and decode weather and NOTAMs.
  • Relay flight movements to ground operations and Governors destinations.
  • Receive radio calls.
  • Monitor and track active flights through all phases of flight.
  • Effectively communicate departure, arrival, delay, aircraft, and airfield status to relevant stakeholders, including the Head of Operations, Operations Manager, and clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive departure and arrival briefings to crew members and ensure relevant information is communicated to clients.
  • Implement stringent airfield safety procedures to create a safe operating environment for personnel and aircraft.
  • Maintain reliable air-to-ground radio contact with aircraft commanders and diligently record all communications in accordance with Governors Aviation standards.
  • Monitor the entire process of arrival, parking, refueling, loading, and departure of Governors Aviation flights to ensure smooth operations.
  • Coordinate with relevant partners to fulfill aircrew requirements for refueling, ground services, crew transportation, and accommodation.
  • Assist in passenger check-in, luggage tagging, loading and off-loading bags.
  • Prepare general declaration forms for flight departures and arrivals.
  • Assist passengers/guests in embarking and disembarking. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Hold a Diploma in Flight Operations/Dispatch.
  • Hold a KCAA Flight Operations License.

Preferred experience and essential knowledge

  • Proficient in radio communication.
  • Have a minimum of 1 consecutive years of work experience in flight operations and dispatch.
  • Familiarity with KCAA Regulations.
  • Knowledge of KAA Policies
  • Efficient time management skills and ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
  • Capacity to plan effectively, multitask, and deliver results with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving skills
