Full Job Description
Job Summary:Maintaining accurate records, tracking existing fixed
assets and accounting for the disposition of assets while ensuring
compliance with financial and regulatory requirements. Key
Responsibilities:Conducting Physical Audits: Responsible for physical
verifying of the existence and condition of fixed assets listed in the
company's records. This involves conducting regular audits by visiting
different locations where assets are located.Updating Asset Records:
Update the company's asset register or database with accurate
information obtained during physical audits. This includes recording
any additions, disposals, transfers, or changes in the status of fixed
assets.Asset Tagging: Tagging fixed assets with unique identification
labels or asset tags to facilitate tracking and identification during
audits and inventory checks.Reconciliation: Comparing the physical
count of fixed assets with the records in the asset register to
identify discrepancies or inconsistencies. Investigate any
discrepancies and take necessary actions to reconcile the
records.Compliance: Ensuring compliance with accounting standards,
internal policies, and regulatory requirements related to fixed asset
management. Reporting: Prepare reports and documentation related to
asset verification activities for management or regulatory
purposes.Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments such as
finance, procurement, and operations to gather information and
coordinate activities related to fixed asset
management.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in
finance/accounting/economics and or related fields.Professional
Accounting certification (CPA, ACCA)Proficient in using ERP systems,
preferably Oracle.Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly
MS Excel.0 – 2 years experience in an accounting position.
