This is a full-time on-site role for an Electrical Project Engineer located in Kampala, Uganda. The engineer will be responsible for managing projects related to electrical engineering projects, coordinating with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and maintaining quality standards in procurement processes. Qualifications
Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering skills
Knowledge of Electricity, Power Distribution, and Power Systems
Experience in procurement activities related to electrical engineering projects
Strong analytical and negotiation skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Knowledge of Electricity and Power Distribution
Professional certification in electrical engineering is a plus
BOQ and Project Estimation skills
Strong negotiation and research abilities
Experience in electrical engineering projects
Purchase Orders and Procurement skills
Strong knowledge of ERP system.
Contract Negotiation skills
Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices
Attention to detail and accuracy
Experience - 5 Years plus in the Electrical or MEP Company/Field.
AutoCAD / Revit knowledge.
In depth knowledge of Electrical LV HV Items.
Knowledge of Substation and Power Distribution.

The Procurement
Engineer will manage end-to-end procurement activities for engineering and MEP projects, including identifying requirements, preparing and issuing Requests for Quotation (RFQs), evaluating supplier offers, and coordinating purchase orders.
Responsibilities include maintaining supplier relationships, tracking delivery timelines, ensuring compliance with company policies and technical specifications, and optimizing costs without compromising quality. The role involves close collaboration with engineering, project management, and finance teams to align procurement plans with project schedules and budgets, as well as continuous improvement of procurement processes and vendor performance.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Supplier Evaluation skills, including assessing technical capability, reliability, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
