Our client, a reputable and expanding insurance provider, is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter specializing in Property & Casualty lines to join their entirely remote underwriting team. This critical role involves evaluating and pricing complex commercial risks to ensure profitable underwriting results while maintaining competitive market positioning. You will be responsible for analyzing detailed submissions, assessing exposures, selecting appropriate risks, determining policy terms and conditions, and establishing adequate pricing. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of P&C insurance products, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make sound underwriting decisions independently. You will also play a role in mentoring junior underwriters and contributing to underwriting strategy development. This is a fully remote position, requiring excellent communication and digital collaboration skills.

- Analyze and evaluate complex commercial property and casualty insurance applications and submissions.
- Assess risks, determine policy terms, conditions, and pricing to achieve profitable outcomes.
- Underwrite new business and renewals in accordance with company guidelines and appetite.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and agents.
- Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and product development teams to ensure alignment and share insights.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting P&C insurance.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior underwriting staff.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting strategies and tools.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Prepare clear and concise underwriting documentation and recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in commercial property and casualty underwriting.
- In-depth knowledge of P&C insurance products, coverages, and underwriting principles.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and risk assessment skills.
- Excellent negotiation and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex underwriting decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a high volume of work in a remote setting.
- Relevant professional designations (e.g., AU, CPCU) are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop other team members.
