Job Description
The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing general admin supplies, automotive components, equipment, and services necessary for production, warehousing and general operations. The role ensures cost efficiency, quality compliance, timely delivery, and strong supplier relationships while supporting overall supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Sourcing
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers/vendors for automotive parts, admin requirements, and services.
- Conduct market research to analyze industry trends, pricing, and availability.
- Develop and implement cost-effective procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
Negotiation & Contracts
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and service level agreements with suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal/ethical standards.
Supplier Management
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, delivery timelines, and after-sales support.
- Address supplier non-conformance issues and develop corrective actions.
Inventory & Logistics Coordination
- Collaborate with Workshop, admin, and warehouse teams to ensure availability of all required materials.
- Maintain optimal stock and supplies levels to avoid delays while minimizing holding costs.
- Coordinate with logistics for timely transportation and customs clearance (if applicable).
Quality & Compliance
Reporting & Budgeting
- Track procurement KPIs (cost savings, lead times, supplier performance).
- Prepare periodic reports on procurement activities and budgets.
- Support cost reduction initiatives and continuous process improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications (preferred): CIPS, CPSM, or APICS.
- 3–5+ years of procurement experience, preferably in the
automotive industry
. - Proven track record of sourcing automotive components, aftermarket parts.
- Experience in international procurement and logistics is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Knowledge of automotive supply chain, vendor ecosystems, and industry regulations.
- Proficiency in procurement software/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics).
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset with cost-consciousness.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Other Requirements
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced automotive production environment.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for supplier visits and negotiations.
